Eleanor S. Carpenter, age 98 of Baraboo, died on Monday, March 10, 2014 at St. Clare Meadows Care Center. Eleanor, daughter of Roy and Rachel (Stoner) Glenn was born on July 14, 1915 in Seymour, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Clio Carpenter in November of 1935; he preceded her in death on July 3, 1974. She worked in the deli at Darrow's, Hamburger Heaven and Herman's Fine Food as a cook. She was a longtime member of Emanuel United Methodist Church. In her free time she enjoyed reading, gardening and playing cards.Survivors include: her four children, Shirley Schmid of Oshkosh, Roy (friend Cindy) of Baraboo, Judy (John) Schubring of Baraboo, and Marlene (Jeff) Johnstone of Colorado Springs, CO. She is further survived by 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, Max; and siblings, Iris Holmes, Juanita Groomes and Gene Glenn.Memorial Services will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Emanuel United Methodist Church with Pastor Blake Overlien officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
