Alvin D. Wilzewske


Alvin "Al" D. Wilzewske of Frostproof, Florida, formerly of Baraboo passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 at Winter Haven Hospital in Florida after a brief illness. He was born June 27, 1929 in North Freedom to Otto and Lillian Wilzewske. In April of 1952 he married the love of his life, Mary Agnes Huhnstock. They made their home in Baraboo until his retirement in 1991 at which time they sold their home and went traveling in their home on wheels. They saw much of the United States before and after his retirement. Eventually they would settle for 6 months out of the year in Florida and 6 months in the Lake Delton area. In October of 2012 they made Frostproof their home year round. He spent most of his career as a lineman for Wisconsin Power and Light. He and Mary enjoyed seeing much of the United States in their Avion trailer, making many friends along the way. He had a large garden for many years which he shared the harvest with family and friends. He was very talented and was able to solve problems and fix anything. He was very good to his nieces and nephews and would help them anyway he could. He made many beautiful wood things; projects which he shared with family and friends and sold at small craft shows. These wood projects will be a wonderful remembrance.He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; sisters-in-law, Virginia Weidling of Wisconsin Dells and Jean Wilzewske of California; as well as many nieces and nephews and friends all over the U.S. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Lillian; his in-laws, Konrad and Freda Huhnstock; brothers, Emmerson, and Walter (Elsie); sisters, Helen (Al) Hess and Mabel (Reuben) Graetz, and Marie Wilzewkse; brother-in-law, Robert Huhnstock; sister-in-law, Victoria (Harold) Holt as well as a nephew, Jimmy Hess.According to Al's wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date
