Katherine 'Kay' F. Pierce, 72, of Baraboo, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 at St. Mary's hospital in Madison. Kay was born the daughter of Frank and Lucille (Prosek) Mrofchak on Sept. 30, 1941 in Bessemer, MI. She was united in marriage to Harold Peirce on January 31, 1961 in Dubuque, IA. Kay was a long time member of St. John Lutheran Church in Baraboo. She worked in the Baraboo area for many years; including K-Mart, Farm and Fleet, and Wal-Mart until her retirement. Surviving Kay are her husband of 52 years, Harold; her four children, Debra (Mike) Thill of Waterbury, CT, Tricia (Eric) Klingenmeyer of North Freedom, Jeff Pierce of LaValle, and Jim (Gabe) Pierce of Loganville; she is further survived by 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia (Robert) Baek of Oxford and Pamela Klingbeil of Middleton; as well as many nieces; nephews; other relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; aunts; and uncles. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013 at St. John Lutheran Church in Baraboo with Pastor Carl Schroeder officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Redlin Funeral Home, 401 Madison Ave., Baraboo. Continued Visitation will be held on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013 from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at the church. Burial will follow service in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.
