Harry Tracy Cleveland Hunt


Harry Tracy Cleveland Hunt Jr., of Merrimac, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013. Harry, son of Harry T.C. Hunt Sr. and Zoah Dare (Harbison) Hunt, was born on Jan. 4, 1939 in Chattanooga, TN. He was united in marriage to Ruth Keppler on June 30, 1962 in Altoona, PA.Harry was the Director of Music at DesPlaines Bible Church while attending Roosevelt University as a voice major. He started a singing group for Evangelical Child Welfare Service and performed concerts in the Chicago area. Harry started a Heating and Air Conditioning Company in DesPlaines IL. where he lived with his wife, Ruth, and two children, Catherine Dare, and Mark Adrian. As a result of skiing with his family, he found what was later called the Old Schoolhouse Restaurant and enjoyed entertaining customers for 22 years. Harry has been retired since 2001 and resided in Merrimac with his wife Ruth.Harry enjoyed working outside, planting flowers and working on his machinery. He spent hours on his laptop studying the Word, especially interested in Prophecy and how our world today fits in with the imminent return of Christ, which he looked forward to every day. He was his family's problem solver - helped all of us - we will miss him dearly.He is survived by his wife Ruth (Keppler) Hunt; his daughter Catherine Dare Hunt; son Mark Adrian Hunt and his wife Lesley Anne (Weinberg) Hunt; grandchildren, Andrew William Tracey Lindahl, Amanda Dare Lindahl, Abbey Kate Lindahl, Ethan William Hunt and Elijah Samuel Hunt; two sisters, Betty Jean (Hunt) Blum, and Miriam Ruth (Hunt) Mobley.Harry was preceded in death by his sister, Helen June Hunt.Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 6th, 2013 at 11 am at Walnut Hill Bible Church with Pastor David Hutchens officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 10 am until time of service at the church. Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
