Romaine Stackman

Romaine Ruth (Miller) Stackman, age 79, was released from the "Arms of an Angel" to be with her Lord on November 3, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison with her daughters by her side. Romaine was born on Oct. 2, 1934, in Wonewoc, the daughter of Leo and Ruth (Marsh) Miller. She was married to Arlin Stackman on November 14, 1953 and he preceded her in death on March 21, 2006. After a lifetime of work and endless sacrifice, she relished spending time with her grandkids, family and friends. She loved mowing her lawn, having parties at the farm, and enjoyed having neighbors come over for a cup of coffee.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Henry, Codger and Gerald; sisters, Claudine and Elizabeth; special friend and sister-in-law, Marvy; and her nephew, "Big" Randy.Romaine is survived by her children, Dwan Schuck (Robert Dunham), Roxanne Olsen (Timothy), Susan Stackman (Foxy), and Jody Steiger-Leese (Nikolaus); and her four beautiful grandkids, Megan and Maddie Olsen and AJ and Samaya Steiger. She is also survived by someone she considered her son, Bob Timmons (Sandra) and her special nephew "Little" Randy, as well as other relatives and friends.A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in North Freedom with Pastor Andrew Meyer officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in North Freedom right after the service. A luncheon will be served at the church following the burial. Please no flowers. Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
