Irene Fitzgerald


Irene Fitzgerald (nee Mayme Irene McQueen) left the bounds of this earth on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, to be with her heavenly Father and all of those family members and friends who were waiting for her.She was born April 9, 1924 in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, and lived out her childhood on Websters Prairie, having been raised by her older brothers and a sister after her mother passed away when Irene was 14.She married Robert Edward Fitzgerald on Sept. 5, 1941, at the First Presbyterian Church in Baraboo. Their very happy union was blessed with three children: Priscilla Fitzgerald, Dennis Michael "Mike" (Laura), and James "Jim" (Suzanne).She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob"; parents, Bertram and Ellen Ann McQueen; in-laws, Edward Charles and Priscilla Fitzgerald; brothers, Delbert, Duane, Donald and their spouses; brother, Robert; sisters Doris (George) Rowe and Marion Davies; and Priscilla's significant other, Luis Gallo.She leaves behind her grieving but very thankful family, Priscilla, Mike and Laura, Jim and Sue; grandchildren, James Michael (Kim) Fitzgerald, Stefanie (Jason) Teske, Michael Angelo (Elaine) Fitzgerald, and Robert James (Teresa) Fitzgerald. In addition, she has taken leave of her adored great-grandchildren, Emmaline, Patrick, Sophia, Delaney, Kayla, Gabriel, and Devin Fitzgerald and Lilia and Beckett Teske; and many friends.A Memorial Service for Irene will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at the First Presbyterian Church in Baraboo with Pastor Lisa Taylor officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 10 a.m. until the time of services, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
