Gerald “Jerry” Cote, age 78, of Baraboo, passed away peacefully at home in his favorite chair on Monday, October 26, 2026, with his family by his side, after a two-year battle with cancer.
Jerry was born to Raphael and Lorraine (Mroz) Cote on October 9, 1948, in Milwaukee. He attended Bayview High School. Jerry served in the Army from 1966 until 1969. He was united in marriage to the love of his life Jonnene Vold on October 20, 1979, in Milwaukee.
After moving to Baraboo in 1983, Jerry spent the majority of his career working at Isenberg’s installing appliances.
Jerry loved creating a welcoming space for family and friends, especially in his yard, where everyone was always welcome. He was known for making the best margaritas. He enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends and was always up for an adventure. He enjoyed exploring nature and taking hikes with his family. Jerry had a love for animals and cherished his pets.
More than anything, Jerry treasured the time he spent with his family, and his grandchildren held a special place in his heart. He loved playing a variety of table games with his grandchildren. Sunday football was a favorite tradition, especially watching the Packers with his grandson, Austin. For Jerry, football Sundays were about much more than the game—they were time spent together with Austin.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jonnene; son, Jared (Oana) Cote; daughter, Justine (Matt Weiland) Cote; grandchildren, Austin, Haley and Noah; as well as nieces, nephews, many cousins, and good friends he made along the way.
