Alan Harvey Seraphine, 74, of Baraboo, Wisconsin, passed on Friday, September 4, 2026, after a short stay at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo. Born February 20, 1952, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, he was the son of Chester Seraphine and Geraldine (Dega) Seraphine. He was the husband of Judy (Huber) Seraphine, with whom he shared a love-filled marriage admired by many for 28 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three sons: Michael (Heather) Seraphine, of Oshkosh, WI; Matthew (Brittiny) Seraphine, of Oshkosh, WI; and Michael Foss of Baraboo, WI. Alan was blessed with four grandchildren: Maelynn, Joe, Aiden, and Andy. He is further survived by his sister-in-law, Janice (Duane) Vorndran, and his mother-in-law, Lola Huber. In addition to his parents, Alan was preceded in death by his siblings, Timothy Seraphine and Geralynn Seraphine.
Alan was a 1970 graduate of Oshkosh High School. He entered the mechanics program at Fox Valley Tech where he completed one year before he felt the call to join the United States Army. His service with the Army took Alan all over the United States and Europe. After his proud service in the Army, Alan continued his civic service by becoming a postal carrier. Alan walked the hills of Baraboo making sure everyone had their mail for 30 years.
Alan’s happy place was the slopes at Cascade Mountain. He skied every day that he could, taking the entire month of February off during his postal years to enjoy as much powder as possible. After his retirement, Alan could be seen at the hill every day waiting in line to make sure his skis cut the first trail down the mountain in the morning sun. He shared his love of skiing with everyone he could and there are countless family members and friends who credit their love of the sport to Alan.
Alan loved to spend time with his family. You could often find Grandpa Giggles on the floor showing his granddaughter how to use the latest toy he found to share with her, smiling and giggling away. Always willing to lend a hand with any and every project the family had going on, he was a gentle mentor and a huge helper. You could always count on Alan wanting to wrap up a hard day’s work by enjoying a meal at one of his favorite restaurants.
The family would like to express immense gratitude to the staff at St. Clare Emergency Room and ICU Departments. Your kind support was wonderful and helped us navigate a difficult time.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 PM, Saturday afternoon, September 26, 2026, at the Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home, 401 Madison Ave., Baraboo, WI. Military honors for Alan will begin promptly at 1 PM.

I went to Jr. High with Alan. He was a kind and gentle soul. It sounds as if he did not change and lived his life the same way. Condolences to you all.

Grandpa Alan was always good to us. We enjoyed skiing and going out to lunch with Alan and Judy afterwards. We will miss Alan and he will be in our hearts. He had great taste in toys and had a very generous heart. A part of him will always be with us & we will honor him on the slopes. Peace be with you.
