Chadler Charles “Chad” Schemehorn, age 50, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026.
Chad was born December 4, 1975. He worked for United Electric as an electrician, where he was especially proud to work alongside his son, Hayden, who was his apprentice. Sharing his trade with Hayden was something that meant a great deal to him.
Chad had a way of lighting up every room he entered. His quick wit, infectious smile, and larger-than-life personality left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He loved deeply and wholeheartedly, always putting those he cared about first.
Of all the roles Chad held throughout his life, none meant more to him than being Dad to Hayden and Halle. His children were his greatest source of pride and joy, and the love he had for them was immeasurable. He cherished the time they spent together, the laughter they shared, and the countless memories they created as a family. Being their dad was one of the greatest parts of who Chad was, and the love, lessons, and memories he gave them will remain with them throughout their lives.
Chad found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—taking the side-by-side out for a ride, spending time on the water with friends, and enjoying an ice-cold Busch Light. He loved sharing those moments and life’s adventures with his longtime girlfriend, Stephanie. Whether it was an everyday moment or a new journey, Chad embraced each experience with enthusiasm, laughter, and a heart full of love.
His presence, kindness, humor, and unforgettable spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children, Halle and Hayden (fiancée, Paige); longtime girlfriend, Stephanie Hartman; mother, Sue Clark; brother, Steve (Nicole) Schemehorn; sisters, Angela Cain and Shelly Skipchak; and the mother of his children, Teri Pejskar.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Military honors will be held at the funeral home following the memorial service.

My condolences to all of Chads family and friends though I have been away from Baraboo for past 14 yrs I have great memories of playing a lot of softball against Chad when we were younger. I pray Chad found peace in the arms of the Lord. This is one I know hits Baraboo area hard as he was always the guy to light up the room. RIP

Chad was a great friend and we had some really good times growing up. Even though we hadn’t seen each other in years, I’ll always remember the laughs, the good times, and the friendship we shared. I’m thankful to have known you, Chad. You’ll always be a part of some of my best childhood memories. Rest easy, my friend. — Mark
