Merry Carol Steinhorst, age 73, of Baraboo, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 with family by her side. Merry, daughter of Lester and Dorothy (Brown) Steinhorst was born December 25, 1952. She was a graduate of Baraboo High School, Class of 1971. Merry began her working career at Badger Cleaners in Baraboo followed by ACE Hardware in Sauk City. She later worked in customer service for the City of Tavares, Florida Water Department and most recently worked in customer service at the Dells Outlet Mall. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards, slots and was an avid quilter.
Merry was a friend to everyone she met. You never saw her without a smile on her face, it was like a beam of sunshine. She always had time to talk and was also a good listener when you needed it. She cherished time with her family, including her co-workers who were her family too. She was a caring and loving mother to her children, a best friend to her siblings, a caring daughter to her mother, and a very special grandma to her grandkids.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Dana Carmona; mother, Dorothy Brahmstead; grandchildren, Isaac, Serena and Penelope; two great-grandchildren as well as her siblings, Lisa (Phil) Smith, Fred (Bobbi) Steinhorst, Pat (Nancy) Steinhorst, Mike (Debbie) Steinhorst, Kathy Behnke, Lester (Kathy Dembny) Steinhorst as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Merry was preceded in death by her father, Lester; sons, Paul C. Page and Danial R. Page; and her sister, Sherrie Ziemke.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at noon at Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home with Pastor Michele Yardley officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in North Freedom.

My husband Winston and I aka (Slickwilly) met Merry a few years ago at the outlet mall here in town. Everytime we came to the area we would stop by to shop and visit with her. Merry and Winston both were dealing with their cancer struggles. On the early morning of August 5th we arrived at the mall .We couldn't wait to see her. She was our first stop.We hadn't seen her since February and we had alot of catching up to do. We were too late . Merry, we love you and you will 4 ever be in our hearts and in our prayers.
