Sandra `Sandi` Johnston , Age 81


January 27, 1945 --May 25, 2026

Sandra “Sandi” Norma Johnston, age 81 of Baraboo, Wisconsin, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 25, 2026 at Meadow Ridge Assisted Living after a lengthy illness. Sandi was born January 27, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio to Carl F. Geil and Norma L. Peterson Geil. Sandi married Leroy “Butch” Johnston Jr. on September 2, 1967, in Pittsburg, KS, they later divorced.

Preceding her in death were her father, Carl Geil; step-father, Clarence Saiter; mother, Norma Geil Saiter; and a great nephew, Deckard Studebaker. She is survived by her sister, Marcia (John) Studebaker, Baraboo, WI, her brother, Gary (Emily) Geil, Apalachin, NY, her daughter, Holly (Brian) Zanoni, Decatur, GA; grandchildren, Alana and Bryce. Also surviving is her nephew Brian (Rachel) Studebaker, Baraboo, WI. and niece Alicia Studebaker Smith of Boyce, LA; as well as great nephews, nieces and cousins.

Sandi was raised in Cleveland, Ohio and attended West Technical High School in Cleveland, and graduated from Diamond High School in Diamond, MO. She graduated from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS., with a B.S. Degree in Education. Her major was Elem Ed and minor in Art and Soc. Sci. Sandi taught at Carthage R-9 School District (Hawthorn Elementary) in Carthage, MO and Consol. School Dist. #1 in Hickman Mills, MO. She became a Realty Specialist for the General Services Administration in Philadelphia, PA from 1977-1997.

Sandi was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed serving the Lord by playing the organ and piano and singing in the choir. She also enjoyed art, music (especially Classical), gardening and crocheting among other interests. She very much loved family and friends and was caring, giving, compassionate and always grateful. Sandi was very much loved and will be greatly missed until we can join her in Heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ.

A private burial service will be conducted at a later date in Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmstead, Ohio.
