Jerrold R. “Jerry” Klingenmeyer, age 87, of Baraboo, passed away at home on Saturday, April 4, 2026.
Jerry, son of Clarence and Marjorie (McCoy) Klingenmeyer was born on September 23, 1938 in Baraboo. He attended Baraboo High School. On Aug. 11, 1962, he was united in marriage to Sharon Maxine Lehmann at St. Joseph Catholic Church; together they spent 56 years.
Jerry was employed by Badger Ordnance for many years before taking a job at Sysco Foods as a delivery associate prior to becoming a dispatcher until his retirement. In his younger years, he played countless years of softball. Family was the most important part of his life. He especially loved attending his family’s sporting events over the years and was affectionately known as “Gramps.” He was an avid golfer, and looked forward to many leagues at Fairfield Hills; often bragging about his hole-in-one. He enjoyed cheering on the Brewers, Packers, and Badgers.
Survivors include his son, Eric (Tricia) Klingenmeyer; daughters, Kelly (Michael) Pate, Kimberly Klingenmeyer and Stephanie (Carl) Fischer; grandchildren, Tanner (Melissa), Zachary and Casey (Emily) Klingenmeyer; Melanie (Cory) Masin, Sarah (David) Cook, Joshua Pate, Seth, Jordan (Trista), Jarred and Drew Barton, Kylie Adkins, Haley (Stephen) Tapp, Taylor (Chris) Kratky; great-grandchildren, Madison, Alison and Jameson Masin, Oliver Cook, Makayla and Makenna Sefkar, Hinata Adkins, Jetit, Donnie and E’Lara Kratky, as well as many loving relatives and many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sharon, in 2018; his siblings, Eugene (Elaine) Klingenmeyer, Joyce Washburn, Patsy (Bill) Cummings, Nancy (David) Fry, Robert Klingenmeyer and Durlin Klingenmeyer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Luke Powers presiding. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Friday at church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

I have been golfing on monday at fairfield and Jerry was always there. He was always upbeat and had a funny or interesting story to tell. Golf is coming up and will not be the same without Jerry. Jim messer golf friend

Heaven just gained a good one!! Lots of good memories of Gramps on the ball field!! He was a great coach & mentor. It helped that Sharon was on our team. Always fun when Gramps was around!! Rest easy!

I was introduced to Jerry and Sharon at their wedding. I was nine years old.. As I grew up I got to know Jerry (Gramps) ! What a guy he was! I moved away didn’t get to see him for decades.. When we did meet again it was awesome for me he was the best. He cared he touched so many people a life well lived. My condolences to Jerry’s family so sorry for your loss.
