Leroy Bradley , Age 71

March 07, 1954 --February 13, 2026

Leroy Bradley, age 71, of Baraboo, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison with family near.

Leroy was born to Lawrence and Helena (Taylor) Bradley on March 7, 1954, in San Bernardino, CA.  He graduated from San Gorgonio High School, Class of 1973. He worked as a short order cook in the Greyhound Bus Station, laborer at Kaiser Steel Mill, and owned his own feed store in San Bernardino. He enjoyed working with his brother making feed for various animals and had a lifelong love of all animals.

He was never afraid of work and seemed to be able to find a job anywhere with his likable personality. He later joined the circus from Fresno, CA and traveled city to city throughout the U.S. working with elephants for those many years. During the circus off season, he spent time in Baraboo and later decided to reside there. After leaving the circus, Leroy continued working at Sysco, then joined the Sauk County Sheriff's Department, as a meal supervisor for inmates until his retirement.

He had a personality that naturally drew people to him.  His warmth, kindness and genuine interest in others created lasting relationships with everyone he met. Whether you knew him for a moment or a lifetime, Leroy made you feel valued and welcomed.

Leroy is survived by his sister, Kathy Bradley of Los Angeles, CA; brother, Larry Bradley of Fresno, CA; nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Carl Lewis and Charles Lewis.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home with Pastor Blake Overlien officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will immediately follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Thank you to all the doctors and nurses that cared for him. As well as his special friends, Shirley & Al Holloway, Sandra Lewis Cooper and Kathy & Kurt Zemke, for their friendship that brought him great joy over the years.

LeRoy was the best boss, hands down, that I ever had the pleasure of working for. He was very understanding and instructive. I hope he has a warm welcome waiting in the hereafter. My sincere condolences.
