Janice K. Ott, age 79, of Baraboo, passed away on July 31, 2025 in Baraboo with her grandson, Mike Ott, by her side.

Born on November 21, 1945 to Walter Sr. and Norma Klaetsch, Janice was raised in North Freedom, WI. After high school, she met and married LaVerne Ott. Over 60 years of marriage, Janice and LaVerne raised their six children together on the family farm. Once they left the farm, they resided in Baraboo to finish raising their kids and helping with grandchildren. While enjoying her time as a stay at home mom, she also worked at Kline and spent several years working at the Wilderness in the Dells.

Janice’s life was marked by a deep love for plants and flowers. Alongside her beloved husband, LaVerne, they spent countless hours crafting and gardening together. Their home was a vibrant space filled with the results of sewing and crafts. She is remembered for her contagious laugh and her frequent thrift store treasures.

Janice is survived by Gary Ott, Sue (Chad) Stier, Linda Ott, Joe (Jean) Ott, Matthew (Kim) Ott and her brother, Walter Klaetsch, Jr.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Klaetsch, Sr. and Norma Anderson; her daughter, Kristi Ott; her sister, Joyce Klaestch and her husband, LaVerne Ott.

Janice leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Oak Hill Cemetery in North Freedom. A luncheon will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Ochsner Park Pavilion in Baraboo.

The family asks for donations of flower seeds in remembrance of Janice.
