William F. “Bill” Brissette, age 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2025 at his home in Merrimac.
William was born to Joesph and Laura (Sayer) Brissette in Greenfield, MA on March 12, 1938. He graduated high school and joined the U.S. Navy on November 16, 1956, having served until June 24, 1960. In the Navy, he served as a Navigator Radar Operator and had 4,032 flight hours.
Bill worked for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for 37 years, as an Air Traffic Controller. He was promoted to Supervisor as a Planning Program Specialist for the FAA. He was a Hospital Chaplain in Queens Medical Center in Honolulu and also at St. Claire Hospital in Baraboo for 20 years. Bill was a devout Catholic and attended Mass daily at St. Joe’s Baraboo or St. Mary’s in Merrimac. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.
Bill is survived by family including his 5 children; grandchildren; sisters; other distant relatives and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother.
Funeral Services will be announced and held a later date.
