Gene Donald Parchem

Gene Donald Parchem, age 90, of Baraboo, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Our House Assisted Living with family by his side. Gene, son of Louis and Violet (Weir) Parchem was born on June 20, 1934 in Excelsior Township. On Sept. 17, 1965, he was united in marriage to Marcella May Jackson; she preceded him in death on April 4, 2025. Gene owned and operated GP's Home Improvements LLC for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, yard work and gambling. 

Survivors include his children, Craig (Teresa) Parchem, Sandra Parchem, Kim Stebbins and Susan (Daniel) Gerrish; step-children, Philip (Terri) Herritz, Roger Herritz, Michael Herritz, Robert (Sue) Herritz; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; he is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Melvin, Norman, Gordon, Vernie and Robert; sister, Leona; granddaughter, Christi Grace and his beloved wife of 59 years, Marcella. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Private inurnment will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
