Kathryn Carol Meyer

On April 6, 2025, Kathryn Meyer, of West Baraboo, passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 80. 

She was born in Sparta on September 14, 1944 to Audrey Krueger and Kermit Gilbertson. She attended school in LaCrosse until she moved to Baraboo in her junior year. Kathy attended Baraboo High School where she met the love of her life Harold Meyer. They graduated in 1962, were married in 1963 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and shared 56 memorable years together until his passing in 2019.

Kathy worked as a Dental Assistant at Dental Associates of Baraboo. There, she made many lifelong friends. She played cards at Thunderbird Lanes, worked BINGO at St. Joseph’s, loved working in her yard and going to lunch with her friends.

When God made Kathy, He made the world a more beautiful place. She added more kindness, beauty, grace and love.

Kathryn is survived by her children, Lisa (Gary) Stolp of Manitowoc, Thomas (Tammy) Meyer of Prairie du Sac, Timothy (Kim) Meyer of Baraboo; six grandchildren, Elizabeth (Justin) Kiel of Manitowoc; Jacob (Molly) Stolp of Mishicot, Jessica Meyer of Plain, Stephanie (Jon) Goeres of Chicago, Matthew (Taylor) Meyer of Reedsburg, Lauren Meyer of Baraboo; five great-grandchildren, Cora, Jackson, Kian, Audrey and Nadia. She is also survived by her sister, Mary (Roger) Luft of Eau Claire, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, her parents and two sisters, Donna Gilbertson and Diane McConnell.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Luke Powers presiding.  Visitation will be held from 4:00pm – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home.  Please note that a visitation will not be held on Friday prior to the service. Inurnment will follow Mass on Friday at Walnut Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SJS Cancer Support Team, St. Joseph Catholic School, and/or SSM Health St. Clare Hospital - Healing Garden.
