Bevra P. Cole, age 80, of Fairfield Township, died on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at her home with family by her side.
Bevra was a dead ringer for Jackie Kennedy and kept her unusual and exotic beauty for all of her 80 years.
She was the world’s most competent and logical woman, too smart to be ruled by mere emotion or by hearsay. “So and so says…” was never good enough. You were required to investigate and verify all statements for yourself. She thought gossip was the most empty drivel and distanced herself from anyone prone to it.
Bev was relentlessly loyal and driven by a sense of justice and devotion to family. No one ever had our backs more. The day wasn’t done if there was still something she could do on behalf of her family.
She had impeccable integrity and was quite willing to do the right thing even when she knew it would not be understood or appreciated or ran contrary to popular opinion. Some people would mistake her confidence and assertiveness for being cold and pushy, but in doing so, they completely missed the flip side that was full of empathy and concern for everyone and for the common good.
Bev lived by strict accountability and with duty to detail and expected the same of everyone else around her. She brought out the excellence in people and made them want to set their own bars higher, cheering them on as they did so.
She loved all animals and cared for them with the same devotion shown to her human family.
She fostered curiosity and exploration and love of adventure in her kids.
These past three years, she was a resolute warrior against a rare Wicked Demon Disease with an even more rare presentation. With the diagnostic acumen of Dr Alexis Eastman (UW Health) and the attentive care of Dr Randy Krszjzaniek (SSM Health), combined with her sheer force of will and the strong support of family, she defied her original prognosis by at least 18 months, even getting better for awhile instead of declining as expected.
She was a beautiful Tiger of a woman. Though shattered in loss we are overjoyed that she is finally set free.
On behalf of all the Cole Family, we thank everyone for the concern, support, calls, and messages.
God Bless Bevra Lynne Paul Cole

We are so sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom. She was an amazing lady and I always cherished our friendship. I really always thought that your family served as a surrogate family sometimes for my son's at WAHA shows. Often, as I watch videos of the shows, I see Bev on the rail cheering Patrick or Nick on over the years. I am sure that now, Bev is busy having a reunion with the horse family that proceeded her over the rainbow bridge. Love to you and your family!!

Our condolences to the Cole family. I had the opportunity to work with Bev on both Region 10 matters as well as working many years together on the Ethical Practice Review Board. I highly respected Bev's opinions and contributions to these boards. RIP Bevra
