Charles Raymond “Charlie” Newby, age 82, of Baraboo, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 at home.
Charles, son of Gail and Lorraine (Kollath) Newby was born May 24, 1942 in Watertown. In his younger years he enjoyed working at Herman’s Restaurant. Charlie then owned and operated Newby Cleaning, serving the Baraboo community for many years. In his free time, he loved fishing, four-wheeling, bowling and was an avid Wisconsin Badger fan.
He is survived by his son, Russ (Corinne) Newby of Baraboo; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as his sisters, Joyce (Tom) Janney of Portage and Bonnie (Tom) Biege of Baraboo, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Newby.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 2pm at Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.

My condolences to the family. He was such a kind man. He had the perfect pear tree and often mentioned how the deer would visit and eat the pears off the tree. He will be missed.
