Danny M. York

Danny M. York, age 79, of Rock Springs, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 with family by his side at Reedsburg Area Medical Center. 

Danny, the son of Wayne and Marion (Foote) York was born on July 28, 1945 in Elkhorn, WI. Danny married Gayle Bergholtz on June 11, 1966 in Edgerton, WI. He was born and raised on a dairy farm; together with Gayle, they had four children and they farmed for 38 years. After retiring from farming, he worked at a co-op in Reedsburg and Menards in Baraboo, until he fully retired in 2015. Danny enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. 

He is survived by his dear wife of 58 years, Gayle; children, Tammy (Dale) Roe of Whitewater, Kathy Uptagraw of Rock Springs, Roger (Sue) York of Baraboo; grandchildren, Brittany (Matthew) Kilpin, Kacy (Nick) Meyer, Josh (Allison) Kluender, Lauren (Brad) Dailey, Brandon Uptagraw, Dakota (Cammi) Kluender; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Torunn, Lucy, Ava, Owen, Kohen; siblings, LeRoy (Judith) York, Donna (Larry) Stilen, Virginia York, Mariann (Richard) Kruchten; other relatives and dear friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Marion; son, Rick; son-in-law, Scott, and his great-granddaughter, Autumn Rose. 

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home in Baraboo. Interment will immediately follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in North Freedom.
