Linda K. Faivre, a woman of creativity and selflessness, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the age of 72, following a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer. She was born on April 29, 1952, in Baraboo, Wis., the daughter of Orville and Darlene (Burris) Cox.
Linda graduated from Baraboo High School. She was united in marriage with her childhood sweetheart, Arvin Faivre, and together they raised their three daughters on the Faivre family farm. Linda’s career spanned various roles, from her early days at Grady’s Sewing Center, now known as Ardyth’s Sew-N-Shoppe, to her impactful work with Community Action, where she assisted numerous residents within Sauk County. Her expertise as a Supplemental Insurance Specialist was a testament to her dedication and care for others.
A lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Linda’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She approached life with an open heart and an eager mind, always ready to learn, create, and love.
Linda’s interests were as diverse as they were passionate. Her first love was horses, a passion she maintained throughout her life and lovingly shared with her three daughters and granddaughter. Her recent foray into horse driving showcased her characteristic zeal for learning and excellence, as she quickly advanced to an intermediate level. Linda’s creative spirit shone brightly in her many pursuits. From crafting wedding cakes to sewing clothing and quilting, she approached each project with a meticulous eye for detail. Her collaborative spirit led her to establish Red Barn Quilting with her daughters, where their collective talents blossomed.
Her love for hand applique, creating new quilt patterns, and making decorative dolls reflected her boundless creativity. Linda’s interest in Young Living Essential oils and health, and nutrition demonstrated her commitment to well-being, not just for herself but for those around her. An excellent cook and baker, Linda was always eager to experiment with new recipes, achieving perfection in each dish she prepared.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Arvin; daughters, Susan (Tim) Brooks, Stephanie (Dave) VonBehren and Sheryll (Jerry) Pierce; grandchildren, Jordan and Taylor VonBehren; Corey (Chelsey) Pierce and Kelsey (Sam Fassbender) Pierce; brothers, Alan Cox and Dean (Denia Cupp) Cox; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Blanco, Louise Faivre and Linda Cox; brother-in-law, Dennis (Kathie) Faivre; and many loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Darlene Cox; brothers, Durlin and Steve Cox; and brothers-in-law, Lou Blanco and Carl Faivre.
A funeral service will be held at ST. PAUL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 106 S. Maple St., North Freedom, at 11 a.m. on Monday December 30, 2024. A visitation will be held at REDLIN-ERTZ FUNERAL HOME, 401 Madison Ave., Baraboo, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 29, 2024, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. A private family burial will take place at Rock Hill Cemetery.

I worked with Linda at Community Action and she was one of the most caring people I’ve ever met. She went so above and beyond for all of her clients and was just an incredible person to work with. Some of my favorite memories were all of us ladies getting together after work and sewing one of her own quilt patterns.
