My time working with Gordie were very interesting to say the least. I learned a lot from him when I worked with him as a CSO and handling animals and people. The moment he decided to transport me and a 150 lb Rottweiler to the shelter in the back of the pound truck was not one of those endearing moments but in hindsight it definitely was a memorable one. I am saddened by his passing and my thoughts and prayers are with all of the family. Ruth Browning

He was a joy to work with during our time together at Baraboo PD. Gordie introduced me to my family’s first puppy. We welcomed Mrs. Bigglesworth into our hearts. I’d like to think that somewhere now they’re together again. My condolences to the family and especially you, April. May he live on forever in our memories.

We worked together for most of his time at Baraboo PD, and we found him to be a real asset to the Baraboo community. Not only did he operate the Animal Control section of the Department, but he was the one that issued so many parking tickets uptown. In as much as our merchants & shoppers really disliked getting one of Gordy's yellow notes, the majority of those same people loved the interaction with him. Gordy had genuine compassion for the animals that ran our streets, as well as our residents & visitors. Gordy ... you will be missed by all of us!

Gordy was a good guy and I always thought of him as a fixture at BPD cuz he had been there so long. Gordy made his position at the PD enviable to may other departments who did not have CSOs. I’m glad I it to know him personally and professionally. My condolences to his family.

April, I'm very sorry for the loss of father. From what I read about him he was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and dad to all animals and will be missed by so many. I pray for you and your family in this time of sadness and hope you can look at past memories with fondness.

My condolences to the Ringelstetter family. I enjoyed working with Gordie and appreciated his caring nature for animals. He was a kind person and sent humorous emails at work from time to time. It definitely helped "lighten" things up in the midst of some heavy times. In particular, his on-going "debate" with a former officer about who was going to buy whom a burrito for lunch always made me laugh. Godspeed Gordie!
