Charles Robert Crisafulli, known to family and friends as "Chuck," passed away on October 24, 2024, at the VA hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born on February 11, 1956, in Seattle, Washington, Chuck was the youngest of six children to Francis (McMillian) and Leonard D. Crisafulli.
A Navy veteran and lifelong chef, Chuck had a passion for cooking that followed him through his many roles in life. He enjoyed fishing, classic rock, classic cars, and sharing his practical wisdom on life skills with those around him. Known for his sharp negotiating skills and big heart, Chuck will be remembered for his resilience, humor, and devotion to family.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Penny; daughters, Terri (Dave) Roe, Jo (Cory) Dammen and Vanessa (Jason) Welch; stepchildren; grandchildren; his brother, Jim Crisafulli; sisters, Kay Hendrikson, Cheryl Lawrence, and Candy (Joe) Guido; lifelong friends, Jeanne Martin and Kevin Mohr. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved brother, Angelo "Nick" Crisafulli; sister-in-law, Becky Rayner; father-in-law, Harvey Rayner; the spouses of nearly all of his siblings; and his son, Nathan Crisafulli.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, November 1, at 10 a.m. at Walnut Hill Bible Church in Baraboo, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Military honors and interment will take place at Walnut Hill Cemetery. As a playful nod to Chuck’s love of luck, guests are invited to bring a scratch-off ticket for the card box. His family will share memories and scratch tickets together during the luncheon after his funeral—a fitting tribute to Chuck’s fun-loving spirit. Any winnings will go toward a lasting memorial at his grave.
