Kenneth Lee “Lefty” Robenolt, age 95, passed away on October 9, 2024 at Oak Park Place in Baraboo.
Kenneth, son of Chester and Louise (Carpenter), was born on February 18, 1929 in Wisconsin Rapids. After graduating from Lincoln High School in 1947, Kenneth proudly served our country by enlisting in the Navy in 1947. After his discharge from the Navy, the Korean War broke out and he enlisted in the Air Force, serving in France and Germany until September of 1953. After his discharge, he worked for Wisconsin Power and Light Co. (now Alliant Energy) for 37 years, retiring as District Manager of the Portage District in 1989. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, JoAnn Pings, on September 27, 1956 in Dubuque, Iowa. Together they raised 6 wonderful children.
He was an avid golfer and fisherman and a Die Hard Chicago Cub fan. He enjoyed watching the Packers and traveling. Kenneth was a member of Wisconsin Rapids F. & A.M. Lodge #128 and the Baraboo American Legion Post 26.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 68 years, JoAnn of Baraboo; children, Steve (Jo) Robenolt of La Feria, TX, Sue Bork of Charlotte, NC, Debra Friedman of Plover, Michael Robenolt of Oxford, WI, Pam (Sean) Robenolt of Tillamook, OR, and Jeff (Julie) Robenolt of Wisconsin Dells; as well as 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; step-dad, Les Jero; sister, Betty Cote; brother, Donald Robenolt; step-sisters, Mary Lou Jero and Joann Rodgers.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Lake Delton Village Cemetery, where Military Honors will be provided by Wisconsin Dells American Legion Post #187.
The family would like to thank the staff at Agrace and Oak Park Place Memory Care Unit for their care and compassion for Ken.
