Fawn Tacai Baxter, age 41, of Baraboo, passed away at home when heaven gained a beautiful Angel on Friday, September 6, 2024.
Fawn was born in Georgia, the daughter of Kerrilyn Vertein & Micheal Baxter on May 6, 1983. She attended St. John’s Lutheran School and graduated from Baraboo High School, Class of 2001. She was a head start teacher and was also in the food and beverage industry. Fawn set the bar beyond any could in her career of customer service. There will be a huge hole in the hearts of many.
She was a wonderful mother. She loved raising her four amazing children in a home she shared with her wonderful spouse, Mark Hilke. She had an inner sense of right and wrong and people always knew where they stood with her. She loved her family with no boundaries. No matter what, she always strived for her kids to have the best of the best. She enjoyed life and living it to the fullest with her incredible sense of adventure.
She is survived by her spouse, Mark; children, Hayden, Spencer, Elizabeth and “MJ” Mark Junior; her beloved dog, Rocky; mother, Kerri “Nana”; grandmother, LeVeta, as well as other relatives and many friends.
Fawn has joined her father and brother, Mikie in heaven.
A friends and family gathering will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home from noon until 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Mark Hilke for the benefit of her children and other children in need.

You were such a beautiful young woman, so full of spunk and loved your children with all your heart. You were my babysitter for a few years when you were younger….my son’s favorite sitter! I met Fawn when she was little. Then, we worked together at Kmart. We have stayed in touch ever since. I loved her crazy stories. I mean, who else wakes up to an elephant in their back yard? She was a fun, strong, and kind person who tried to be the best mom for her kids. Her loss is truly heartbreaking. My thoughts and prayers are with Mark, her kids, and all of her family and friends.
