Jackie R. “Jack” Ulrich, age 78, of Baraboo, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 10, 2024.
Jackie was born to Walter and Ardissee (Belter) Ulrich on March 8, 1946 in Baraboo. He attended Sunshine Valley Elementary School, 1st through 8th grade, then attended High School at Baraboo Senior High. Jack was a loyal and hard-working employee. As a teenager, he started working for Orville Lewis on the farm. He also worked for Baraboo Equipment for many years and then retired from Seneca Corp. of Baraboo in 2011.
He spent much of his free time outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, small and large game. He was an avid fisherman. He made many fishing trips to Canada to fish for Northerns and Walleyes. He also enjoyed catching panfish at Devil’s Lake. Jack was a self-proclaimed Bachelor, as he never married. He did not have children of his own but was a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews.
Jack is survived by his brother, Dennis Ulrich of Portage; nephews and nieces, Ryan (Kristi) Ulrich of Chippewa Falls, Derek Ulrich of Lake Delton, Lindsay (Keith) O’Donnell of Sun Prairie, Amy (Christian) Wilcox of Evansville, Lori (Levi) Steuer of Evansville and Jennifer Swanson of Waunakee. He is also survived by his great nephews and nieces, Hannah and Stella Wilcox, Henry and Evelyn Steuer, and Sophie and Jaxson O’ Donnell. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Diane (Ulrich) Swanson; sister-in-law, Janet Ulrich; nephew, Terry Ulrich and great nephew, Alexander Wilcox.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Jack Ulrich.
