Beverly `Bev` Federman

Beverly “Bev” Federman, age 94, of Baraboo, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2024, at Oak Park Place in Baraboo.

Bev, the daughter of the late Ernest and Iva (Wright) Johnson was born on September 30, 1929, in Baraboo, WI. Following graduation from Baraboo High School, Class of 1948, Bev was employed by Effinger Brewery. On June 6, 1951, she was united in marriage to Ronald G. Federman at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Baraboo. 

Bev worked with her husband as a bookkeeper at Federman’s Auto Parts store in Baraboo for many years.  She was a CPR instructor at St. Clare Hospital and MATC for more than 30 years and also served with the Baraboo Ambulance Service. In addition to being a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bev was active with the St. Clare Hospital and Baraboo Fire Department Auxiliaries. She thoroughly enjoyed her time as a volunteer at St. Clare Hospital, being a part of her class reunion committee, and playing bridge with her various clubs. Bev was a lover of animals and truly adored her dogs. 

Bev is survived by special friends including Steve and Jeanne Pointon, Ralph and Joan Pierce, Ken and Sandy Pierce, Tom and Anna Sprecher, Jim and Linda Slezak and families, her godchild, Tracy Niles, the staff and her friends at Oak Park Place, as well as other dear family and friends. 

Bev was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ron; cousin, Joan Litscher, as well as other family and friends. 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Baraboo with Pastor Karen Hofstad officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Sauk County Fair, or the Sauk County Humane Society.  We would like to thank Oak Park Place staff for their care of Bev the last six years.
