Yelena Shvetsova , Age 40

March 21, 1984 --July 11, 2024

Yelena Shvetsova, age 40, of Baraboo, passed away on July 11, 2024 unexpectedly due to a previously unknown medical condition at her home.

Yelena was born, daughter of Yuriy Shvetsov and Liubov Shvetsova on March 21, 1984 in Kostanay, Kazakhstan but lived most of her early life in the Yuzhnouralsk area of Russia. She married Michael D. Miller in October 2010. Yelena was an artist, mostly painting with oil and acrylics on canvas. She split her time between her family in Russia and spending time in America. While in Russia, she enjoyed visiting with her family. She would go between three different locations that they had small houses at. In one of those towns, she enjoyed visiting and spending time with her uncle. While she was in The States, she enjoyed spending time in nature (especially Devil's lake) and time at home with Mike and their cats Bellamy, Serby and Thomas. She exhibited many times at art fairs and shows with Sauk County Association (Spirit Lake Arts) as well as taught art lessons to children around the area. She was very spiritual, and this led to her enjoyment with yoga (at It's All About You Yoga and More) and clean eating / vegan foods. She sponsored two children in foreign countries (Toma in Bangladesh and Catherine in Uganda).

Yelena is survived by her husband, Mike; her parents, Yuriy Shvetsov and Liubov Shvetsova; her brother; Igor; sister-in-law, Vika; nephew, Yaroslov, other relatives and very dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her mother-in-law.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. - 12 noon at Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home. For those that cannot attend, please share a story or memory by submitting a condolence below.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Spirit Lake Arts or a blooming plant may sent to the funeral home. Please consider planting a tree or flowers in her memory.

A dear friend from Uganda Kampala

Today, I bid farewell to a friend, a confidante, and a kindred spirit. Your passing leaves a gaping hole in my life and the lives of countless others who benefited from your generosity and compassion. Your unwavering support for our charity over the years has improved lives, brought hope, and inspired others to follow in your footsteps. Your selflessness, empathy, and kindness were a beacon of light in a world that often needs more of these virtues. You may be gone, but your legacy lives on through the countless lives you touched, including mine. We will deeply miss you,and our shared passion for making a difference. Your absence has left a void that can never be filled, but your memory will continue to inspire me to continue our shared work. Rest in peace, dear friend. Your impact will never be forgotten, and your spirit will continue to guide me on this journey. Farewell, dear one.

Dear Michael, We have never met, but I knew your wife. Lena was my classmate in Kazakhstan, and although we did not see each other for many years, we sometimes corresponded and remembered each other. She was and will remain in my memory as a very beautiful person - beautiful, first of all, with her soul, humanity, humility and inner light, which she shared with others just by her mere presence, and also with many talents, which she was generously awarded by nature. People, with whom her paths crossed, necessarily felt her warmth, and she felt them. I am very sorry to see her leave us so soon, but I am sure her soul is in a better place. May she rest in peace. Please accept my deepest condolences. I wish you, her parents, her brother and loved ones courage and patience. She is in our hearts. Sincerely, Zauresh Mukhambetzhanova, from Kostanay, Kazakhstan

Yelena was the most kind person I have ever known. She was the most understanding and the most kind to every soul. I still cannot believe she is gone. We spent our college years together and came to US together. She was always there for me and always supported me. She was the best friend I ever had and there will never be a friend like her, the most kind and the most caring. May Your Soul Rest in Peace. My Deepest condolences to Mike and Yelena’s Family. My heart is with you all. ??
