Robert Thunder `Bob` Wynos Jr. , Age 68


September 27, 1955 --June 05, 2024

Robert Thunder Wynos Jr., age 68, of Baraboo, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his family. 

Bob, son of Robert Sr. and Anna (Green) Wynos was born on September 27, 1955 in Keshena.  Bob attended Baraboo High School, he enlisted in the Navy at 17 years old.  He answered the call to serve his country from September ’74 until September ’80. He graduated from Norfolk, West Virginia. Bob most recently worked at Napa Auto Parts and had worked at Ski Hi Fruit Farm for many years. He loved to fish and fix vehicles; he enjoyed playing darts and billiards. 

Our big “little” brother is survived by his siblings, LaLonnie (Roger) Miller, DeAnna (Kevin) Lindahl, Willard (Dana) Espinoza, Antonia (James) Stevens, Martha (Al) Womack, Glen (Tess) Hamilton, Todd Hamilton and Stephanie Conley. He is further survived his brother-in-law, Victor Wallis and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

Bob was preceded in death by his native grandparents, Luis Wynos and Mary Thunder Wynos; father, Robert Thunder Sr.; mother, Anna Mae; grandmother, Joyce; grandfather, Toby, and his sister, ElLisa Wallis. 

Funeral Services will be held at Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 2:00 p.m with Chaplain Sally Parish officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Excelsior Township with Military Rites provided by Baraboo Area Veterans Honor Guard. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family, designated to: Stephanie Conley.  

The family would like to thank the SSM Hospice Nurses; VA Hospital in Madison, especially the infusion center nurses, and The Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin.

I knew Bob from the early 70’s in Madison then party’s on Potter street. As luck would have it we were both assigned to the USS AMERICA AIRCRAFT CARRIER. Bob was always kind and respectful with a funny sense of humor. You will be missed brother Bob.
