Jerry P. Harrison , Age 78

Jerry P. Harrison, age 78, of Baraboo, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Oak Park Place with family by his side. Jerry, son of Philip and Helen (Burtch) Harrison was born May 27, 1945 in Baraboo. He graduated from Baraboo High School, Class of 1964. Jerry was employed for over six years by the Sauk County Highway Department before working for Seneca Foods until his retirement. On June 24, 1967, he was united in marriage to Carol A. Giese at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Baraboo. In his younger years, he enjoyed deer, elk and turkey hunting as well as fishing. Jerry looked forward to family road trips with his wife, Carol and his daughter and son-in-law. Jerry enjoyed going out to eat, especially a good dessert. He had a great love for his dogs and horses.

Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Carol; daughter, Amy (Gary) Wimann; siblings, Dannie (Pam) Harrison, Penny (Joe) Noel; sister-in-law, Deb (Lynn) Owens as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Tony.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Baraboo with Pastor Tim Kuske officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Oak Park Place and St. Croix Hospice for the care shown to Jerry and his family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a local Parkinson’s Support Group or St. John’s Lutheran Church.

I bartended at Cross man's Town Lounge for years. Jerry and the Seneca Men were awesome. Then I got to help take care of his dad before he passed. I am so sorry for your loss. Love and prayers for his family.
