Precious Norma was another grandma to me, and my kids as well as one of my Mom’s dearest friends. Her sparkling blue eyes that saw right into your soul and radiated joy and love, they shone Jesus thru her. I always loved our time together and called her my angel on earth. We both loved dragonflies too, so they will always remind me of her when I see them. She and Chuck were the kindest people I’ve ever known outside of my own family. To us, they were family and always will be. Thank you for sharing your precious Mom with us. Our hearts and prayers are with you. Until we hug in heaven, Norma, we love you!

Words can not express how sad & brokenhearted we feel at the death of our precious friend, Norma. She had a gentleness and openness with people that is rarely seen in a person. Norma was the “mother of our St. Joseph’s Parish family.” She taught us how to love each other, but especially love Jesus, by her daily life example. We will miss Norma so, so much!! Our love prayers, and deepest sympathy to the entire Sophie family.

Our deepest sympathy to the entire Sophie family. Norma and Chuck are wonderful people and I’m sure they are happily united in Heaven this day. I will never forget the October evenings when we played flashlight tag and hide and seek at night. Norma would treat the entire neighborhood to hot chocolate. I think it’s the only thing that would get us to stop for a few minutes! Memories of Second Street being the best street in Merrimac to grow up on are due in no small part to the Sophie family.

Norma was a very special lady of enormous faith. She practiced and shared her faith every day. Norma was a good friend and assisted me when I was teaching 2nd grade religious education until Covid came. Norma was also a faithful member of Daughters of Isabella and the Council of Catholic Women and other parish activities. May God bless.

My loving condolences to Norma and Chuck's family. Words of gratitude for my friendship with Norma and Chuck and their beautiful children fail me. The blessings of your truthful friendship and love truly outnumber the Shamrocks that grow."To know Norma was to know God. Spending time with Norma grew my heart bigger, and my faith in God even stronger. Norma and Chuck personified love and unconditional positive regard for every life they touched. I thank God for giving us all Norma. Her commitment to her family was a loving example for all who knew her. I have many memories of my cherished conversations with Norma and Chuck. The legacy of Norma will live on in the hearts of her beautiful children and grandchildren. We are all spiritually wiser and richer for having known Norma and I will count her friendship as one of my greatest blessings from God in this world. Through triumphs and challenges of life, Norma met both with grace, strength, dignity, humor and faith. May we all carry on as better people because of Norma's witnessing faith in God and our Savior, Jesus Christ. "The way of God is un-defiled, and the word of the Lord fined as gold, and he a shield to all who trust in him." Samuel 22-33 Norma your presence will be missed now and always. Your legacy remains rich and inspiring. May we meet again in God's Kingdom dear friend. Until then, rest-in-peace dearest Norma. "May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back, the may the sunshine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields, And, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His Hand." God, please be loving comfort for the entire Sophie family as they celebrate the life of their beloved and departed mother. Amen Robin Deethardt
