In loving memory of a wonderful mother and beautiful lady.

Nancy Gale Dvorak, nee Lewis, born May 14, 1943, and passed on January 21, 2024. Nancy was preceded in death by her father and mother, Lloyd and Gertrude Lewis, her sister, Cheryl Niemczyk, nephew Gary Niemczyk, her best friend and companion Robert Peterson, and her lifelong friend Patricia Hobby.

She is survived by her three children Cheryl McIntire and husband Greg of Reedsburg, Charles L. Dvorak and wife Karen of Baraboo, and Carl Dvorak and wife Terry of LaValle. Nancy had four grandchildren Charles V. Dvorak, Pamela Freeze, Alyssa Epstein, and Maxwell Dvorak. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren, Alexis, Jemini, Lana, and Clayton Dvorak, Hannah Freeze, Carly Dvorak. She has many family members that will miss her including nieces Constance Martinson and Julia Niemczyk, cousins Karen, Christi, and Kathy and Ed with all of their family members. Nancy loved going to the family campground and visiting with all the family on the river. Nancy was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Baraboo and in earlier years was active in service of the Lord as a Ladies Guild member, on the Board of Directors council for the school and day care facilities.

Nancy was one of the strongest women in the family. Through suffering many physical disabilities she kept her motor running and feet moving to the best of her ability. She can now dance free with her best friend and companion Robert Peterson. Nancy loved musical concerts and she was often found at the local Crystal Grand theater with her family members enjoying the great singers like the Oak Ridge Boys, Sawyer Brown, the Beach Boys, and Air Supply. She loved taking her family, especially her grandchildren, to the shows.

Nancy also loved creative art projects like creating occasion cards, baking with her grandchildren, especially at Christmas time and taught us all some of the old-world Norwegian recipes like holiday staples such as lefsa and rosettes. Nancy loved to travel on cruise ships and visit exotic places, like the Caribbean Sea ports. These trips were part of her motivation to stay active. One of her passions was collecting jewelry items at every port. Nancy’s hobbies were many over her 80 years, she was a wonderful mother, great friend, passionate teacher, and hard worker. Nancy can cruise freely now anywhere in the world. She will be missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Our Savior Lutheran Church for its childcare and community service help programs.
