Dorothy Zimmerman

Dorothy Marie (Ennis) Zimmerman, age 91 of Baraboo, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2023 at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital.Dorothy, daughter of Lawrence and Lillian (Schneider) Ennis was born Feb. 6, 1932 in Hillsboro.

Dorothy had a great sense of humor, a contagious laugh and a warm compassionate heart. She loved getting together with any and all of her family and friends. We were so blessed to have her with us all this time. Mom told one of the grandchildren when they said they were bored that there was no such thing as being bored.I think she probably also said "just get up and do something"!

She is survived by her children, Nancy (Bernard) Lovati, Duane, Robert (Rosie), Philip (Robin), Curtis (Annie), Thomas (Patti), Ellen (Tim) Deininger, and Albert. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, and26 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Dale "Butch", her son Joseph "Joe", grandson, Brad Zimmerman and 10 brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023 at 11:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Luke Powers officiating. Visitation will be held at church from 10:30 am until the time of mass. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in North Freedom. The Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home is assisting the family.
