Keith L. Goerks , Age 77

July 18, 1946 --September 30, 2023

Keith L. Goerks passed away at home on September 30, 2023 after a long illness. He was born on July 18, 1946 to LeRoy and Vernice (Wallsch). He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran church and remained a lifelong member. He graduated from Baraboo High School in 1964. Keith was united in marriage to Kathleen (Montanye) on October 27, 1969 and was looking forward to celebrating their 54th anniversary this month.

Keith was a lifelong dairy farmer. He loved farming and was proud to purchase the family farm in 1980. His passion for agriculture and farming was passed on to the next generation.

He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Packers and the Brewers. He had a passion for fishing, hunting and bowling. He was an avid bowler and was fortunate enough to participate in state and national bowling tournaments.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife, children and grandchildren. Some of his best vacations were to South Dakota, the Grand Tetons, and Yellowstone. He loved everything the West had to do with wildlife and scenery. Traveling with Keith was always an adventure.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Vernice; sister Carolyn Hanley, brother-in-law John Montanye, mother-in-law, Belva Montanye, nephew David Montanye, and niece Belva Montanye.

He is survived by his wife Kathy, his children Michelle (Tom) Dees, Brian (Mary), Mark, Brent (special friend Stacy Sanner Davee) and Melissa (Brad) Becker; grandchildren Lacey Goerks, Garett Goerks, Gavin Goerks and Micah Becker; his sisterPat (Mike) Newman; nieces Vicky ( A.J.) Reppen, Rhonda (Paul) Freitag, Therese Bonanno and Roxanne Green; and nephews Shawn Newman and Mike (Carol) Montanye.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 624 East Street in Baraboo, with the Rev. Tim Kuske officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday at the church from noon until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church and School or a charity of your choice. The Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Thank you to all of Keith's friends and family who helped support us. A very heartfelt thank you to SSM Health at Home Hospice who helped in countless ways during Keith's last 16 months at home. It was his hope to continue to live at home and they made that possible. The family will be forever grateful for all your care and support.
