Thomas H. Snyder , Age 68


March 31, 1955 --September 30, 2023

Thomas H. Snyder, 68 of Baraboo, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023 surrounded by his family at Aspirus Health Care Hospital in Portage, WI. Thomas was born on March 31, 1955 to Howard and Elsie (Bolton) Snyder.

On September 8, 1979, Thomas was united in marriage to Charlotte Radke. The couple lived in Baraboo all of their life. Thomas worked at Darrows, Co-op Country Partners, Deppe Transport, and Blum's Excavating until he retired.

Thomas was in the National Guard for 21 years, Elks Member for 36 years, and North Freedom Legion for 18 years. He was well known for making jokes and kidding with people to make them laugh. He loved to go camping, play cards with the guys, socialize with friends, and enjoyed doing activities with his family.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Charlotte, of 44 years, Son: Jason (Kristy) Snyder of Baraboo, Daughter: Janelle (Russell) Balliet of Indianapolis. Thomas is further survived by a grandchild: Jolie Balliet and beloved dogs, Macy, Zoey, and KitKat. Thomas is survived by brothers: Bob (Emily) Bethke, James Bethke, and Jerry Bethke and sisters: Betty Alley, Mary (Ron) Hart, and Peggy (Ted) Miller and Honorary daughter Natalia (Jeremy) Smith and honorary grandson, Maksim Smith, as well as many other nephews, nieces, friends and co-workers.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Elsie Snyder, sisters-in-law, Nancy Bethke and Linda Bethke, nephews Robert Bethke Jr., Brad Zimmerman, and niece, Linda Richardson.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 6, 2023 with visitation from 10:00 am. to time of church service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Karen Hofstad officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will be determined at a later date.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to UW Health Hospital in Madison, UW Health Clinic in Portage, and the Asprius Health Care Hospital in Portage, especially to all of the Nurses and ICU Nurses, Dr O, and all the other staff for their amazing work.

The Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home is assisting the family.
