David Patten , Age 55

David was born Feb 16, 1967 in Walworth, WI, to Nancy (Gregg) and Charles Patten, Sr.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Nancy (Gregg) and Charles Patten, Sr. and by his Uncle John Gregg, Aunt Beth (Gregg) Myers, Uncle Rick Patten, Uncle Allen Patten, Aunt Carrol (Patten) Baker, and cousins Daniel Myers and Alan Patten. 

 

David is survived by children: Tyler (Basia), Phoebe, Isaac, Jeremiah (Mary Beth), Aaron (Kelly), Silas, Victoria; 5 grandchildren, former wife Julianne Dzicki; siblings: Rhonda (Andy), Don, John (Connie), Charles, Jr.; Aunts Margaret Gregg, Gini (Gregg) Kotlicky, Rema (Gregg) Sherrill, Barb (Melahn) Patten and Judy (Patten) Stoikes. 

 

David was especially close to his brother John and sister-in-law Connie (who was his High School classmate). David joined John and Connie on trips hiking and climbing, trips to weddings, and trips to visit grandbabies.

 

He held lifelong friendships with his cousin Marjorie Kotlicky and his Aunt Rema Gregg Sherrill.  He will be greatly missed by his D&D group: John, Connie, Marissa, Lucas, and Kameron. The family would like to acknowledge David's neighbor and friend, Sue for the important friend support she offered to David. David's passing has been devastating for all who loved him and hold him dear in their hearts. He will be missed by his many friends and coworkers, cousins, nieces and nephews.

 

David will be remembered for his generous heart, infectious laugh, and the 5AM birthday calls he made to siblings.

A memorial gathering will take place at Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Military honors will be conducted on Thursday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

David passed away unexpectedly Feb. 4, 2023 at the age of 55.After growing up in Walworth and Fontana (Country Club Estates), David joined the Army and served in Germany as a Specialist in computer systems repair and program analyst.He returned to Wisconsin, living in Spring Green and then in Baraboo. David loved the Wisconsin and Kickapoo River Valleys and enjoyed hiking, kayaking and nurturing plants. He was a thoughtful musician, a life-long seeker of knowledge plus an avid and amiable conspiracy-theorist.
