Eva Jo (Dempsey) Hooker, age 86 of Baraboo, WI passed away Sunday May 23, 2021. She was born in Wauwatosa, WI on May 19, 1935 to Virginia C.E. Dempsey. On February 23, 1957 Eva married Adolph Hooker.
Eva did home day care for many years, and she enjoyed working with the ladies at the Emanuel United Methodist Church. She looked forward to the Sunday after church brunch get-togethers. She loved reading and embroidery, as well as cooking and baking.
She was preceded in death by her mother Virginia and stepfather Charles; husband, Adolph; brothers, Raleigh, Paul; and sisters, JoAnn, Judy, Johanna; and infant brother, Herbie.
Eva is survived by her children, Marilyn (David) Kinsman, Dean (Debby) Hooker, Dale Hooker, Carolyn (Dale) Dahlke; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; brothers, Theodore (Casandra), David (Gloria), Carlyle (Jodie), Cyril (Joni); sisters, Daunnene (Bill), Carol (Joe), Kay (Jack), Pearl (Don), Pauline, Enain, Lucy, Penny (Vern); sister-in-law, Olive; brother-in-law, Roger; as well as other friends and family.
A memorial service is taking place Thursday June 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel United Methodist Church in Baraboo, WI with pastor Blake Overlien officiating. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church Thursday. Burial will follow the service at Walnut Hill Cemetery.

I've never met a more cheerful person. She's our son's other grandma. We were so fortunate to have to bribe Kyle to come home with us after work. He would have lived with her if we had let him. Don't know what we would've done those first years of his life without her (and Adolph and the kids). She will be dearly missed.

Spoke to Eva about a year ago. We spoke briefly at the grocery store. We both struggle for we comply with social distancing and did not get to hug each other.
