Edith L. Louck , Age 61

January 07, 1959 --July 14, 2020

Edith Lorraine Louck was born on January 7th, 1959, at the Al Ringling hospital in Baraboo, Wisconsin. She was fifth of six children born to Lloyd Lee Louck and Edna Mae Burton. She had always wanted to be a lawyer and was awarded 2-3 scholarships upon graduating from Baraboo Senior high school in 1977. She went on to develope a great passion and love for writing poetry, and in 1984 was published in a book along with a collection of other poems.

Excerpt of from one of her poems

"(O Aunt Ruth)" by Edith Louck

October 8, 1990

"Im paging through the photo book;

A hundred times I take a look

At her sweet smile in days gone by

And well-known twinkles in her eye."

She was named after her fathers sister Edith, who was also a published poet, but she liked everyone to call her "Edie". She had a beautiful singing voice, as attested to by her cousin Patti, who said," Ruth and Edith, sat in my bedroom and we sang country western music. And boy could those girls sing. She could light up a room with her smile and friendly disposition. Even when life threw her curves with her diabetes, nothing got her down. She was there when you needed a hug, which she willingly gave freely. Her best friend and constant companion was her cat Pancake, who was found at 3 weeks of age under the sign at the Pancake House restaurant in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. There were many facets to Edith, her love for Star Trek, Elvis, life, nature and God. She also loved the color pink. Her favorite flowers were Lilacs and the multi colored plant coleus. Edith departed this earth on the 14th of July 2020 at 2 a.m. with her sister Ruth at her side. Her youngest sister, Ruth, took care of her in final days. With all the love she could give. Edith was a precious, cherished sister who will be never be forgotten. She was preceded in death by her father Lloyd, mother Edna, and brother Ronald. She is survived by her sisters Susan, Idaho, Leslie (Mike) Michigan, Ruth, Wisconsin and a brother Delbert, Florida. Along with 2 nieces, Sarah (Timothy) Idaho, and Suzanne (Alan) Alaska and one nephew, Robert (Alina) North Carolina and 5 great nieces and 3 great nephews, and many cousins.

I am so sorry for your loss, Edith was a really nice girl who always had a smile on her face. I did not know her well, but always got a smile and a hi when I saw her. I am so sorry to hear she had diabetes, it is a cruel and relentless disease.
