Betty Jane Phoenix

Betty Jane Phoenix, age 94, of Baraboo died Sunday, April 14, 2019 at St. Clare Meadows Care Center in Baraboo. Betty, daughter of Alice and Nelson Gauthier was born August 15, 1924 in Preble, WI (Brown County). She was united in marriage to Carroll Phoenix on Sept. 7, 1973 in Milwaukee, WI until his passing in 2007. Betty worked as a homemaker her entire life.She loved to write poetry and was published in books and magazines. Betty loved to garden; roses were her favorite flower and filled her yard. She raised doves for years and was devoted to her dogs. She enjoyed her travels to Florida and Texas, but wherever she moved to, Wisconsin was always her home.She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Phoenix and son, Steven Russell Pflanzer.Survivors include her daughter, Diane (Butch) Stoff (TX); son, Michael Keith Pflanzer (CA); daughter, Terri Rae (John) Huber (Fond Du Lac, WI); grandchildren, Patrick McShea (AZ), Kristin (Angelo) Finaldi (WI), Natalie (Tom) Simon (IL), John Huber (CO), Dylan Stoff (TX), Damon Bethurum (TX) and many great-grandchildren.A private inurnment will take place at a later date at King VA Cemetery.
