Dale William Butler


Dale William Butler age 78, of Baraboo, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday April 13, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer and a brief illness.Dale was the second son of Roy "Pete" and Marie (Balsley) Butler, born on Friday the 13th of December 1940, in Baraboo, WI.Dale married Lillian "Kay" Pickett on October 24, 1964. Together they were blessed with two children, Jean Marie and Christopher. They were later blessed with 7 grandchildren.Dale served in the United States Navy from May of 1958 until December of 1961. He also worked as a security guard at Badger Army Ammunition Plant, a bar manager, asphalt contractor, truck driver, and most recently tree trimming and stump grinding. Dale was very proud of his cars and always enjoyed taking them to car shows. He also enjoyed tinkering around in the garage and being outside tending to his yard. Dale was also a member of the Reedsburg Masonic Lodge #79 and the Eastern Star.Dale leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Kay; children, Jean (Randy) Abbs, Christopher (Tara) Butler, grandchildren: Calli (Craig) Riffey, Shane Abbs (Dani Kowalke), Lilliana, Christopher, Promise, and Rhett Butler. Dale is also survived by his very special niece, Barb Butler Gasner, special sister-in-law, Crystal (Louie) Wells, mother-in-law, Jean Pickett, as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Dale also leaves behind his beloved, most well-trained cat, Mister Mister.Dale was preceded in death by his parents, infant granddaughter, Marguarette Mae Butler, brother, Duane, sister-in-law, Rose Mae Butler, nephew, Bill Butler, father-in-law, Bob Pickett, and his beloved Siberian Husky, Girlfriend, whom he missed dearly.Visitation will be held Thursday April 18, 2019, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Redlin Funeral Home in Baraboo. Services will be held Friday April 19, 2019, at noon with burial following the service at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Baraboo. Visitation will also be held on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. A luncheon will be provided following the burial at New Life Outreach Church in Baraboo.A special thank you to Andrea Beckwith for your kind visits with Dale, you were very special to him.
