Stanley Wayne Jones


Stanley Wayne Jones of Baraboo, Wisconsin was born on June 21, 1953 in Holly Springs, Mississippi. Stan as he was known was 65 years old and passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019.Stan was talented in sports, music and academics. He excelled at them all but music was one of his passions and was able to master the trombone and trumpet at W. T. Sims HS in Holly Springs, MS.Stan grew up in rural Mississippi on a farm. After his mother passed away at an early age Stanley, his brother and sister were raised by his grandparents, Lewis C. and Enies Deberry-Jones of Red Banks, MS.Stanley earned and was awarded a BS degree in Industrial Engineering at Mississippi State University in Starksville, MS. He excelled in his job, and was an Industrial Engineer mainly in the field of plastics manufacturing. He worked at several well-known companies such as Union Carbide, Jet Plastics, and finally Gerber (NUK) in Reedsburg, Wisconsin.Stan, along with his wife and best friend of 43 years were avid bowlers and often competed in tournaments nationwide as well as to socialize with friends, family and co-workers. He was a member and greeter at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Baraboo, WI. They also enjoyed working with the Fish Fry dinners at the Parish. He was also active in the community and could be seen helping regularly at the local food pantry in Baraboo. Stan also enjoyed photography with his main subjects being friends and familyStan leaves behind his devoted wife and best friend, Lena. His brother Peter (Cheryl); step brother, Sylvester, step brother, Robert (Patricia); step brother, Roosevelt (Maggie); step brother, Maurice, step brother, Charles, step brother, Dwight (Barbara). Step sister, Arlene (Felix), step sister, Yolanda (Roger); step sister, Brenda (Mark); and step sister, Wanda. Children through Love and Mentorship: daughter Mercedes and son Luseni; a living Uncle, Wheatly, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Girth Jones Payne, his biological father Jack Price and his grandparents, sister, Delois Payne Pruitt, step brother, Eddie Payne, and step brother, Willie Payne.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Jay Poster officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Redlin Funeral Home as well as on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of mass at the church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
