Harold Hein


Harold Hein, age 88 of Baraboo, passed away with family by his side on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at St. Clare Hospital. Harold, son of Robert and Myrtle (Hagemiester) Hein was born Nov. 29, 1930 in Baraboo. Harold proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Janet M. (Stefik) Hein to which two children were born. Harold and Janet later divorced. Harold worked for P.I.E. Trucking Company in Chicago for many years. On June 3, 2000 he was united in marriage to Audrey E. (Smith) Clement at Emanuel United Methodist Church. Harold was a member of Emanuel United Methodist Church and the Baraboo VFW Post 2336 for many years. In his free time he enjoyed square dancing, reading western books, playing and watching sports and music, especially jazz, big band, classical and gospel.Survivors include his wife, Audrey; Gigi (Curtis Christman) Jackson; Inga (Mia Tortino) Hunt, Susan (Kelley) McGuiness, Barbara Fassl and Michael Riva; step-children, Oliver M. Clement, Diana (Rick) Franzen and Douglas R. (Bonnie) Clement; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet; brother, Robert (Verona) Hein; sister, Charlotte (Joe) Merry; son-in-law, Gary Fassl; and his grandson, Jeremy Jindra.A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Emanuel United Methodist Church with Pastor Blake Overlien officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Inurnment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery where military rites will be conducted. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emanuel United Methodist Church, the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Association or the Baraboo VFW Post 2336. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
