Karen Beardsley

Karen Beardsley, age 71, of Fairfield passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2019 at St. Clare Hospital with her husband by her side. Karen, daughter of James and Genevieve (Ramsey) Girling was born Oct. 21, 1947 in Reedsburg. She was a graduate of Baraboo High School, Class of 1965. She was united in marriage to Evan Burmester; he preceded her in death in 2002. On Oct. 7, 2006 she was united in marriage to Karl Beardsley at Emanuel United Methodist Church. She was employed by Industrial Coils for many years. In her free time Karen enjoyed quilting, reading and taking bus tours.Survivors include her husband, Karl; step-children, Jennifer (Jack) Pollitt, Daniel (Stephanie) Beardsley, Sarah (Gene) Erickson; siblings, Penny (Archie) Brylla, Sharon (Duane) Peterson and Victor Girling. She is further survived by five grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Ethlyn and Donna Beardsley as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Karen was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Gloria; and step-son, David Beardsley.Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Emanuel United Methodist Church with Pastor Blake Overlien officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
