Robert "Bob" Duane Gehri


Robert "Bob" Gehri was born in Wonewoc, WI on October 12, 1933. He passed away peacefully surrounded by love ones, on December 16, 2018 at the age of 85 at UW Health University Hospital Madison. If you ever met him, you loved him. He had an amazing sense of humor. There are no words to express how much he will be missed.Bob was in the Army and served in the Korean War where he received the National Defense Service Metal.When returning from the war, Bob married his wife Doris Hope Pergande on January 26, 1956 and they had two children. Bob worked at AMC/Chrysler in Kenosha for many years until his retirement.He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a member of the Paddock Lake Sportsman's Club. But he especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends at his trailer in Lake Delton.For the past nineteen years, Bob had been in a relationship with his very special friend Judith Smith. The two of them were inseparable. They would wake up, decide they were going on a road trip and would travel all over the state visiting apple orchards or just looking at the beautiful fall colors.Bob is survived by his two children, son Kenneth (Susan) Gehri, Kenosha, WI, daughter Debbra (Douglas) Morgan, Salem, WI. Grandchildren, Jessica (Eric) Hull, Douglas (Kaitlin) Morgan Jr., Timothy Gehri, April (Chris) Roach. Great-Grandchildren Conner Hull, Allie Hull and Madilyn Roach.Bob was also survived by his very special friend Judith Smith and her children, Terry (Terry Lynn) Smith, Timothy (Amy) Smith. Grandchildren, Joshua (Erica) Wendorf, and Brittney Smith. Great- Grandchildren Hunter & Trever Wendorf and Austin & Bailey Powers.Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest & Louise (Lindorff) Gehri, wife, Doris as well as his sisters, Evelyn Hamburg & Laurine Wardwell.Memorial donations may be given to: SJS Cancer Support Team.The family wishes to thank the staff at Maplewood Nursing Home in Sauk City and the doctors and staff at UW Hospital.
