Ramona Geymann

Ramona J. Geymann, age 86, of Wisconsin Dells, formerly of Portage, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Our House Senior Living in Wisconsin Dells. She was raised Lutheran but was a member of the Nazarene Church since her marriage to her first husband. 

Ramona was born the daughter of John and Gladys (Albert) Klemmer in Paulding, OH on February 19, 1938. Her mother lovingly referred to her as “Miss Piddy” for unknown reasons. She graduated from Paulding High School, Class of 1956. Ramona worked two and three jobs most of her life. First, as a legal secretary for attorneys in Paulding from 1956 until she moved to Wisconsin in 1994. Ramona also worked as Deputy Recorder in the Court House in Paulding, OH for 9 years and as the Account Clerk II in the Engineer’s Office and the Highway Department for the State of Ohio for 11 years. Once she moved to Portage, she worked for Northwoods, Inc., Homeward Bound and Home Health United. Ramona most recently worked at the Pauquette Center in Portage and Baraboo as their transcriptionist for 17 years. Ramona was a worker and she passed on the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker.

She is survived by her only daughter, Jennifer (Fred Brisson) Gher of Chilton. She is further survived by her daughter-in-law, Treva Rheese; 4 grandchildren, Brandon (Brandy), Dustin (Janelle) and Mitchyll (Kelsea) Fuller and Jasmyn Rheese, as well as 12 great-grandchildren.

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Paul, late husband Lawrence, her son James Rheese and 4 great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding, OH. She will be laid to rest in Saint Paul Cemetery in Paulding, OH.
