BC (Brian Curtis) Farr , Age 59

June 27, 1963 --February 27, 2023

BC (Brian Curtis) Farr, age 59, went to his heavenly home Monday, February 27, 2023. After surviving two massive cardiac arrests and other heart attacks, he passed away suddenly at his home with his loving girlfriend by his side. BC was a lifelong resident of Baraboo, WI, and a member of the high school class of 1981. He was born on June 27, 1963, the son of Curtis and Sylvia Farr. BC suffered from both inherited heart disease and cancer. He is now at peace with his Lord.

BC was a beloved and amazing son, brother, uncle, friend, and dog dad. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Sylvia (Farr) Reynolds, brother Dennis Farr, sister, Kay Ferro, and infant brother, Richard Farr. BC will be deeply missed by his sister Shelly Wells, nephews Jon and Jody Cabrera, niece Emily (Wells) Moore, cousins, great nephews and great nieces, girlfriend Gail Anderson whom he loved very much, special friends who were like family, his church family at Freedom in Christ Assembly, and many others. BC was a man of strong faith.

Following in his father's footsteps, he owned and operated his own businesses. BC's automotive business was his first venture. For the past 25 years he has owned the Historic Landmark, Old Baraboo Inn. BC brought this building, built in 1864, back to life from a fire which caused extensive damage allowing people once again to enjoy its rich history. Customers enjoyed BC's stories, prime rib, french onion soup, fish fry, and spirits for 20 years. He was the perfect host for OBI's events. TV celebrities have featured his "big, red house" on their shows and it's recognized on the national level. A book was written about the Old Baraboo Inn by award winning author, Ameila Cotter, a tribute to BC for his restoration of the building. His legacy will continue.

Some of BC's happiest moments were enjoying his favorite hobbies with friends. He loved putting his late model race car on the track. He won trophies and awards. A highlight of his racing career was racing Dick Trickle, the driver his father once sponsored as the A&W car. BC was also an avid hunter. He enjoyed his land around his home, entertaining friends for cookouts on the deck, and listening to music.Nights in the snow shed were always a great time.

The outpouring of messages of love for and support of BC have been greatly appreciated. He sure brought loads of happiness to people. BC was loved wholeheartedly and will be missed tremendously by so many. A Memorial Service will be held from 1-1:45 pm at Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home on Saturday, March 4, 2023 with Pastor Randy Zeman officiating. Visitation will precede the service from noon until 1 pm. Celebration of Life Open House will be held following at his place, the Old Baraboo Inn.We love you BC!

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.

So many shared experiences and stories over the years at OBI! Thanks for ride in Hummer at Devil's Lake Park...crazy! Watching 2005 Super Bowl in freezing cold with horrible 'shared Snickers' commercial...and the empty can that set itself on edge without anyone's help! We'd great staff parties and even jukebox play honkytonk music on own until BC told spirits to knock it off! Friendships formed lasting for years! BC you'll be missed in so many ways...hopefully you'll reach back out to us from the other side. So many treasured memories.

I guess BC must have known that we’d learn that the initials stood for Brian Curtis eventually. I remember being at a Dinner for the Dead one October, sitting in the very front of the row of picnic tables. BC was up on stage, playing various video and audio recordings of paranormal events. No one was around me, because my ex-wife Marjorie had gotten up to go to the bathroom. When I felt a strong tap on the shoulder, I looked around, expecting to see Marjorie sitting next to me, telling me she was ready to go. But no one was there. When I turned around to face the stage, BC took one look at my face, and said, “Something’s happened to you, hasn’t it?” Indeed it had. He called me the next day to see if I was alright. Because, you see, BC was that kind of guy. I’ve had so many other unusual experiences at OBI, but it’s late, so I have to close. BC, you’ll be missed.

We were both saddened by the passing of B.C. We enjoyed B.C.'s stories of the spirits in the building. Since my wife has seen full figured ghosts in her life, she really enjoyed the Dinner With The Dead event. B.C. and I saw an orb flying around the bar once. I also had my fully charged camcorder go completely dead at Bachelor Grove Cemetery, but once back in our car, it was back to normal. There are spitits/ghosts out there. Even though we didn't visit the Baraboo Inn very often, B.C. always remembered us and what we drank. My wife just saw him in Walmart less than two weeks ago and he seemed his usual self. Like B.C. I also did a little racing and watched NASCAR and dirt track racing, and went to the Wi. Dells track. We will miss him on this earth, but see him again in the future. Maybe he will visit the Inn. We can only hope. Rest in peace B.C.
